When I was in Perth

You have seen my pictures when I was in Perth. But I haven't told you what was happened in Perth. Okay I will tell you.
We went to Perth by plane on September 6, 2008. We was curious, what we would see, get and find in Perth. Almost of us had never gone abroad before, but Nadia and Mbak Widi had gone before. So, they weren't so nervous like us. After we took a long journey, we arrived in Perth safely next day in the morning. We met Mrs. Bina Kadaba, our coordinator in Perth. She accompanied us to Billabong lodge, the place we took a rest and waiting until evening. Wow, when we went out from airport, it was soooo cold.. Brrrr... We went to Billabong lodge by mini bus I thought. She left us in order we could took a rest. Then we got some sleep but I couldn't sleep. You know what Nadia and Mbak Widi did? They went to Fremantle by train, just themselves! After they came back, my other friends asked them to accompany them to go to Fremantle. Then we went to Fremantle. Wow, I like this. After we had looked in Fremantle, we went back to Billabong lodge, because it was time to go to Melville S.H.S. We were very embarrassed because Mrs. Bina had already in Billabong lodge! We went there by bus. The bus driver's name is Bob. He was very kind and could speak Indonesian a little. Finally we arrived at Melville S.H.S. One by one our host parents picked us up. I was picked up the last. Ohya I stayed in Rodgers family's house with Mbak Cynthia. We were afraid at the first time. We were afraid if we would make some mistake. When we arrived, there was a party (I mean like "arisan keluarga" in Indonesia). All of their family gathered. When we met them, we were shock. They were all taller than us. Oh My God... But, the next day I found that Rodgers family were very kind...
Okay It was just in the first day and my first impression about Perth. But I have to study now..

When I started studying in senior high school

In 2007, I graduated from junior high school and I had to go to senior high school. In Surabaya, there is no test to enter senior high school. We use our national final exam’s score. SMAN 5 Surabaya is the most favorite one. I really wanted to study in there. But, unfortunately my score wasn’t good enough to enter SMAN 5 Surabaya. During my depression time, Allah gave me the way. Beside the score, there was a way for students who got medals on OSN could choose senior high school. I was very thankful, because of Allah I could study in SMAN 5 Surabaya.
When I was in year 10, Allah gave me a chance to follow students exchange program. There were several tests I had to do. In the first step, there were writing and interview in English. You know, at that time, my English was still not good enough. I got excellent in writing but not good enough in interview. After interview I just felt that I couldn’t pass this step. But Allah loved me. I passed the first step and I had to do some tests in the second step. There were IQ test and like scholastic test called TPA (Tes Potensi Akademik). And “tes minat dan bakat”. In that test I had to perform my ability. I just can dance traditional dancing. So, I performed Remo dance. You know, I hadn’t dance for a long time since I was in year 5. I had to learn to dance again. Alhamdulillah I could do it. All of us were waiting for announcement day. It took a long time until I forgot about that I followed test for student exchange program. One day, I got phone call from Surabaya Government. She said that I passed the test and I would go to Perth, Australia. I had never dreamed about that, because for me at that time, going abroad was just a dream that I could never do. But Allah made it. In the same time, I failed in OSN. I couldn’t continue to the next step. I was sad, but Allah must have planned other beautiful plans for me. And I knew it. I could go abroad!

I Followed OSN (Olimpiade Sains Nasional/National Science Olympiad)

After I followed training center in Jakarta and I was failed, I went back to school, but my headmaster appreciated it very much. He said that I was great eventhough I failed. My science teachers asked me to follow another competition called OSN. Actually, I didn't know what it is. I just followed it, but I had to do the test because school only could send one delegation in each subject but it was added by the students who followed training center in ITS. I just didn;t have self confident because I knew nothing about biology, but I like studying biology. Fortunantely, Cicik and Sony were very kind to tell me what I didn't know and with my biology's teacher's help, Bu Wahyu. I had to thank to Allah, because I couldn't do this if there was no Allah's help. I went to Semarang on September 4,2006. I couldn't believe it was happened to me.. And in addition, I got silver medal!! Actually, I was very happy because I could go to SMA Taruna Nusantara and Borobudur Temple!! I always dream about that and I could go there... Oh My God, it was a miracle for me and You added my happiness by being me in the second place!!!

Thank you very much.. I always love Allah...

When I was in Jakarta

On March 6 until April 5, 2006, I went to Jakarta. I couldn't believe that I could go there. I followed the competition, but I didn't realize that I could do that. I gathered with students from each province in Indonesia to follow IJSO (International Junior Science) training center. In the beginning, there were 45 students. On the second week, they had to choose 30 students to the next step. Alhamdulillah, I could pass it. On the third week, they had to choose 15 students to the next step, and I could pass it. Announcement for the finalist (only 6 students) who could go to Brazil to follow IJSO, getting closer and closer. I couldn't sleep, so did the other. But Bu Iin knew about us, so on Nyepi Day, we went to Dufan.... Yay.. I had never gone to Dufan before. It was much better than recreation place that I had ever gone....

Although I didn't include the 6 students, I was still happy, because I found something new in my life... And I found new friends, got new experience...

My Idul Fitri This Year

Hi...
How is your idul fitri? Alhamdulillah, we have passed Ramadhan. But, I hope I can meet Ramadhan again next year... Because four days end of Ramadhan, I couldn't fasting. I was sick until Idul Fitri. So, I couldn't pray Id. Hmm.. But, it was okay. I have new days and I have to make it better than before. I got much money this time.... wkwkwk.. Alhamdulillah..
I will save it in my saving on bank, but I use a little for my new glasses. Okay, I have gone to Malang and Jember. Now, it's time to go back in a real life with a lot of assignments and tests. Allah, please help me to keep my spirit like before. Okay, I have to study start from now. And I have to study for biology competition. So, I only can write post on weekend or may be I don't have much time to do this, except there's wifi near my house..
Wish me luck this year... I have already in year 12...

This picture was taken when we went to Marapana Wildlife Park. I can patted koalas, kangaroos. and look! I was pretending like a kangaroo... The kangaroo might thought I was crazy..

This picture was taken when we had to reherseal (is it right? or we can called practice) for the perfomance. I really miss this moment... This picture was taken after we had an excursion to Fremantle Prison. Other had lunch, but we were fasting. So, while we were waiting them, we were taking many pictures. I still can feel the wind, the sound of the wave..

It was the same like the first picture. Yup, at Marapana Wildlife Park. I can patted koala!!! But the koala still sleepy.. wkwkwk.. Koalas spend 20 hours just for sleep! ckckck.. I can't do that..

This picture was also taken at Marapana Wildlife Park. Like koalas, kangaroos also like a doll when I patted. It was so soft... You know, because of Rodgers family, I am not afraid to patted animal any more.. It was so fun....

A Year Ago..

I just write new post now.. Because I have a problem with internet connection.
I have seen the new delegations' blog. Wow, I can't believe a year ago I went to Perth. Have fun just like them, meet new friends and find a new family. And the important thing is building connections between Surabaya and Perth government. They found something that they would never forget. Yeah, just like me. But the difference is we went there on fasting month. For me, it was not a big problem. I could fasting and got experience fasting in other country. I would never forget it.
